Ner Le'Elef Programs
Shevut Ami
Shevut Ami Rabbanus
The Russian community in Israel and Diaspora is one of the least serviced Jewish populations.
Many of the earlier leadership for the former soviet Jewry were perforce not local Russians.
Ner LeāElef has formed a strategic partnership with Shevut Ami to train native Russians in
Israel and Russia to provide for the medium and long-term manpower needs across this vast
terrain. For the first time, a large group of Russians are not only being trained as qualified
teachers, rabbis and communal resources, but are being given the tools to start new initiatives,
to develop communal vision, and to implement that vision. The Israel-based Russian programs have
high entry level requirements, the conditions under which the graduates of these programs will
require the highest level of idealism, and self-sacrifice.
Shevut Ami Teachers
The Shevut Ami Teachers Course is a 2 year full time program that also
provides a Ministry of Education Teachers degree. The Shevut Ami Rabbinic
Program is a 3-year full time program, which also provides an Israel Chief Rabbi diploma.
